Transaction QR codes are linked to specific travel declarations; therefore, they will only appear after you set up the travel.
Downloading the carnet is simply the initial step to add the document to your digital wallet. Because a digital ATA Carnet can be used for multiple trips and different combinations of goods, the system does not provide a single static QR code. Instead, you must generate specific transaction codes for each leg of your journey.
The Mandatory Sequence to Generate QR Codes
To see your QR codes in the app or desktop, you must complete the following steps in order:
- Sign the Carnet: Before any travels can be prepared, the holder or an authorised representative must digitally sign the carnet to confirm the General List and affirm liability.
- Prepare a Travel: Navigate to the 'Travels' tab and select 'Prepare Travel'. Here, you will select the destination and, crucially, choose which specific items from the General List you are carrying for this trip.
- Sign the Declaration: Once the travel details are saved, the holder or representative must sign the specific declaration (e.g., the Exportation voucher) to activate it.
- Access the Transactions Tab: After signing, the unique QR codes and numeric transaction codes will automatically appear in the 'Transactions' (or QR code) section of the carnet.
Key Operational Details
- Automatic Generation: Each prepared travel automatically generates a paired set of codes (for example, one Exportation code and one Importation code), plus any required Activation or Transit codes.
- Voucher Consumption: Be aware that each prepared travel consumes one 'set' of vouchers from your carnet's total balance.
- Swiping for Codes: If you have prepared multiple declarations, you can swipe right within the Transactions tab to view the different QR codes for each movement (e.g., swiping from the Validation code to the Exportation code).
- Prepare in Advance: You must complete this preparation before arriving at the Customs office to ensure a seamless transaction at the border.
If you have signed both the carnet and the travel and still do not see a QR code, ensure your device has an active internet connection to synchronise with the central system.
