How do I get a duplicate carnet in the digital world?

Modified on Tue, 26 May at 6:16 PM

Duplicate carnets are not supported in the digital environment because a digital carnet cannot be lost; the holder can simply redownload it using their credentials.

In the traditional paper-based system, a "duplicate" carnet was issued if the original document was lost, stolen, or destroyed. In the eATA system, this concept is obsolete because the authoritative record of the carnet is stored securely in the ATA Carnet Core (central database).

How to Recover a "Lost" Digital Carnet

If you accidentally delete or archive a carnet the ATA Carnet App, or lose access to your digital wallet, you do not need a new carnet. You can restore your data by following these steps:

  1. Log in: Open the ATA Carnet App or Desktop application and log in with your existing account credentials.
  2. Redownload: Use the original Carnet ID and PIN code provided by your Issuing Association to add the carnet back to your wallet.
  3. Automatic Sync: Once redownloaded, all your previously prepared travels, signed declarations, and confirmed transaction history will automatically synchronize to your device.

If you have lost the email or document containing your original Carnet ID and PIN, please contact your local Issuing Association to retrieve these credentials so you can redownload your carnet.
