Should I update the travel if my destination changes?

Whenever possible, yes.

Keeping itinerary information accurate helps Customs officers understand the intended movement of the goods.

However, once Customs has committed a transaction, the travel becomes read-only and can no longer be edited. If further changes are required after a transaction has been committed, a new travel or a correction procedure may be necessary.
