Can a duplicate ATA Carnet be issued in the digital system?

Modified on Fri, 9 Oct at 11:55 AM

Generally, no.

The concept of a duplicate carnet primarily applies to paper ATA Carnets that have been lost, destroyed or stolen.

For digital ATA Carnets, the carnet remains stored in the ATA Carnet System and can normally be downloaded again to another device. A duplicate digital carnet is therefore not usually required.

What if my device is lost or damaged?

You can access the carnet again from another device using your ATA Carnet account or the Carnet ID and PIN issued by your Issuing Association.

What if my journey involves paper-only territories?

Where paper ATA Carnet procedures are still required, any duplicate-paper-carnet procedures remain subject to the applicable issuing-country and customs procedures.

The ATA Carnet System does not create digital duplicates of paper carnets.
