What should I do if my ATA Carnet is lost or if I need a duplicate?

In the digital ATA Carnet system, a duplicate carnet is not required.

  • A digital carnet cannot be lost in the same way as a paper carnet
  • The holder or authorised representative can simply download the carnet again using the Carnet ID and PIN code

Important clarification

  • The digital carnet is stored securely in the system and remains accessible at any time
  • It can be downloaded again on:
    • the same device
    • a different device
    • or by an authorised representative

In a paper context

If a paper carnet is being used (non-digital country or mixed itinerary), the holder should contact the issuing association (IA) for guidance, as standard paper procedures still apply.
