NOTE: The system is currently being tested in several countries. While testing is underway, digital ATA Carnets do not hold any legal status; therefore, paper ATA Carnets must continue to be used as usual. Once a Customs Administration is prepared to recognise digital ATA Carnets as legally valid, a notification and acceptance process will be required before the system can be officially implemented.
