An ATA Carnet can be issued with a limited number of voucher sets. Each prepared travel reserves one complete set of vouchers from the carnet.
If your carnet no longer contains sufficient sets for future journeys, your Issuing Association may be able to allocate additional sets, depending on the applicable procedures.
Why am I seeing "No travel remaining"?
This message usually means that all available voucher sets have already been allocated to prepared or completed travels. It does not necessarily mean that the carnet has expired or that a technical error has occurred.
I deleted a prepared travel. Why did my available sets increase?
Deleting an unused travel automatically restores the voucher set that had been reserved for that travel.
This only applies if the travel has not yet been processed by Customs.
Can I obtain additional sets after Customs has already used the carnet?
Yes.
The ATA Carnet System supports the allocation of additional sets after issuance. Requests for additional sets must be handled by the Issuing Association. Holders cannot allocate additional sets themselves through the ATA Carnet App.
How do I request additional sets?
Contact your Issuing Association and provide:
- your carnet number;
- details of the additional journeys planned; and
- the number of additional sets required.
The Issuing Association will determine whether additional sets can be allocated.
